A Warning from 1000 years in the future

The future is in our hands when the earth has become a disaster because no one cared. A survivor sends a message back to 2023 with the hope that the person receiving it could set in motion a plan to change the future.

Corroding Coral

To the viewers of my artwork, I’d like for everyone to take a first glance, and see a coral reef. Then, I want the viewers to look closer, and see that there’s cardboard and paper and plastic integrated into the painting. This piece was designed to draw attention to the fact that garbage does not belong in the oceans, and even if you don’t see it at first, it is there. My goal is for viewers to enjoy my piece as an aesthetic, but to also gain a new awareness of the sheer amount of trash in our oceans. We must hold ourselves and everyone around us accountable for ocean pollution, because regardless of our age, we are the only ones with the power to stop it.

Ode to Earth

In this submission, I wrote an Ode to Earth, hoping to let my audience know just how sorry I am for the mistakes of humanity done to earth. Through this poem, I am apologizing for the many mistakes I made so carelessly that led to the downfall of our planet and how I’d like to fix it. I learned that love is all it takes to set things right and I’d like to give myself another shot at helping our environment.

The Way Of Music – Who is She TBH

“My video is about music and the way that music can bring hope to others. The meaning of music for me is it can make you express what you want to feel. The fact that music can just make you fall into it. Also, music can help just by listening to it you can just get into it without thinking you are. You can overanalyze every word you hear in music. If you feel down you can just drown every single one of your feelings in lyrics. If you need someone to comfort you can use music to help with your comfort you. The meaning is it can help with your feeling and it can change your mood however you want to take it. Music can be a way to talk without using your own words.”

The Art of Gratitude

“My piece is about the importance of gratitude. I also discussed how it improves our mental health, connects us with others, and strengthens our relationships with the people we love.”

The Good in the Unexpected

“This is a poem to remind me to always look out for the things that make me happy and to never forget to enjoy the world while we still have it.”

The Test

“My entry shows an instance where I am struggling with a test. It shows that I can easily doubt myself. It also shows that I start observing others for a hint towards something when I am not confident in myself.”

Never Too Late

“My piece addresses the mental health issues of soldiers and veterans. The idea of the well-being of soldiers blossomed from my admiration and concern for my older brother, who is training to become a marine officer. On the battlefield, soldiers suffer from far more than just physical injuries and scars; they are also psychologically wounded often to the point of never being the same. Countless soldiers and veterans suffer from PTSD, depression, alcohol abuse, anxiety, and suicide.”
