Breaking Free

Breaking Free is a inspiring short film that explores the silent struggles of mental health, shedding light on the emotional battles many face behind closed doors. Through the journey of its main character, Austin, the film highlights the importance of self-acceptance, healing, and the courage to reach out for support. With its raw portrayal of vulnerability and strength, “Breaking Free” encourages viewers to break the chains of stigma and find their path to freedom and recovery.

Under Pressure

This film is about the struggles of anxiety and depression student-athletes face when they attend school. In this film we see our main character have an anxiety attack while taking an important test.

Forward

This film is meant to give the audience hope for a better future. The message embedded in the film is that you should seek help when you need it, don’t isolate yourself. In the beginning, the character can be seen struggling with mental health challenges. When he talks to a friend we can see him gradually get better.

Quiet Minds

There is a negative stigma that wanting time alone is bad but reality taking time for yourself is important. Time is always ticking and life only gets busier. Distancing yourself from all that stress helps you created new goals for yourself which will ultimately lead you to happiness in life.

This Is YOUR Life

My submission is about the common struggle within most teens, finding themselves living in their day to day life with constant stress and repetitive cycles. Most end up feeling trapped and forget all about their mental health resources available to help aid them when help is needed. This is to serve as a reminder that help is available, all around you and it is encouraged, not looked down upon.

Conscience

Our entry has all the of thing the submission asked us to do and I believe we represent it well by showing our own minds that say were not okay mentally but we always ignore that sign which led to mental issues and stress.

Breaking Point

This submission is urging the viewer to ask for help rather than internalizing their feelings of depression and self-doubt. The main character Eden is shown going through a rough time, but not releasing that energy anywhere. This leads to a downward spiral of lies as she becomes overwhelmed with day-to-day life. Then, just as she is falling off the edge of herself, the video rewinds to the beginning, and instead of shrugging it off, she decides to deal with her symptoms right away. We hope this can create an impact on a generation of teens who are struggling with mental health, and acknowledging shared pain.

You Are Not Alone

In “You Are Not Alone,” we document and portray the struggles of mental health. We use this film to encourage others to seek help and to show that it’s not embarrassing to share this struggle.

Awakening To Hope

My submission focuses on family and mental health, specifically the relationship between two sisters: Ellen, the older sister, and Emy, the younger one. I highlight that mental health isn’t just about friends, but also the support from family. In a twist on the usual dynamic, I show Emy, the younger sister, as the emotional support for Ellen, reversing the typical role where the older sibling helps the younger one. The story ends with a sunrise, symbolizing the end of a tough chapter and the start of a new one. Each sunrise offers a new beginning and a chance to move forward. Let it mark a fresh start for the sister’s relationship and a turning point away from past struggles, reminding us to enjoy life, breathe freely, reflect, and love.

Just One Person

Just One Person follows a young high school girl that is struggling with her mental health and is actively overwhelmed and overstimulated by everything happening in her life. Images and noise play over and over until her close friend reaches out to provide herself and other resources for support, knowing that they’re needed. This support from the friend and the kind words are enough to remind the protagonist that she is not completely alone and that she has people who want to listen and help her through rough times, something that everyone needs but can be easy to forget it exists too.
