Little Things

Content Warning: This artwork contains potentially triggering images that may evoke strong emotional responses or discomfort. “Little Things is meant to be a visceral representation of one’s darkest moment contradicted by the love poured into them by the people surrounding them. The title is in reference to the little things that can drive one to suicide, the little things that can make one want to stay alive, and the literal little things/people in the painting. This piece is meant to draw awareness to suicide and everyone affected by it.”

What gives me hope

My entry has to do which what gives me hope in life, so I did a poem on how playing softball and being with friends and family help me when im overwhelmed.

My piece is about James finding a place were he can express himself and feel safe and comfortable.

My Escape From Stress

This entry is an essay about someone who helps me come back to earth when I am upset. Writing this was a way to express gratitude for my best friend.

Turning the Page

We want viewers to be able to relate to the film, but our true goal was to share and express the feeling of overcoming a hard time in life and to share hope through a personal story. We just have to keep that hope alive no matter what.

I Can

This inspiring film centers on a high school senior struggling with mental health and thoughts of suicide. After realizing she cannot handle it alone, the student reaches out to her friends who help her get the support she needs to keep going.

Always There For You

“Always There for You” demonstrates the importance of noticing changes in friends that may be related to mental health, as well the power of connecting a friend with a trusted adult who can help.

First Step

“First Step” explores a variety of different students as they are faced with the depression. Each student begins to overcome adversity in their own way and takes that first step to get help.
