Hope

Flowers of Gratitude

Flowers hold significant meanings, from love, joy, loss, grief, freedom, and gratitude. In my culture, you gift someone flowers to show that you’re thankful for what they’ve done. My entry depicts a man holding flowers, with a white dialogue box underneath that says “Thank you,” which hints the viewer towards the message and theme of gratitude. which I was trying to demonstrate through my drawing.

Thankful Thoughts

My submission is about who I am grateful for, my sister Lisbeth she is like a mom to me because my mom was always busy so she would take care of me and she taught me everything. I wanted to show my sister how grateful I am and a result of working on this project is that my sister is now aware of how much I am grateful and appreciate her.

The Eye of Gratitude

I created an eye with everything i’m grateful for like my family, my pets, my friends, food, a home, trees, the earth, exercising, money, my education, and Jesus. I made this because I though it was very creative and unique. A new thing that I learned while working on this was that I really got to think about what i’m grateful for and why i’m grateful for that.

Grateful from Within

My submission is a double exposure on adobe photoshop. Its about me being happy and glad about my culture. I tried to add as much as I could to show the great things about my culture. Im most grateful for my culture because it allows me to know where me and my family come from. There are so many great people that I was able to meet.

We Can See Hope

“We CAN See hope. This project was completed 100% virtually with all students/teachers online. We wanted to express what this past year has held within education and how all of us can still see HOPE. This is their reality, and with the help from their community and state, they can succeed. Mental Health Matters to ALL of us, and this is the most important time to SEE HOPE!”

Love Your Body

I choose this category because I want to bring awareness to it. I had once lost a lot of weight due to me being very sad. It was fairly noticeable and people started to commented about it. Some of the words surrounded by the women in the drawing are what people said to me. I then started to binge eat in order to gain back all the weight I lost. I would try to eat as much food as I could, unespecially unhealthy ones. I wish I would’ve known back then that there were oraginzations out there willing to help me.

What Hope Means to Me

“My entry is a narrative, and it is about how I was able to overcome personal challenges because I learned how to believe in hope.”

Aware

In a world where we at times we get overwhelmed with problems we tend to forget to be thankful about what really matters in life. We shut down and end up being distracted by our struggles and it makes it difficult to enjoy moments spent with the ones you love. It may be hard to be grateful when we feel the world closing in around us but gratitude is what helps us move forward, it helps us see the good in a situation and make sense of it all.

Shining in the City

“I chose the category of justice because of my personal experiences relating to being treated differently. , Seeing other people of color being treated poorly and noticing them having to change many things about themselves. What I learned about this project is that there are many people can look different from each other but still have many things in common.”

What Am I Grateful For?

My entry includes all the things that I’m grateful for and how they make my life better. It includes many pictures of my family and some videos as well.
