Hope

Not Enough

Through social media, peers, and ourselves, we often fall into a loop of our appearance, being controlled by our looks and body shape. I often hear people say that they are “not enough” of this and that, which leads to a mindset that is only focused on looks. Adding some elements of self-image, the person that is overall controlling our appearance is ourselves, so I drew a dark image of the girl being controlled. Feeling helpless and trapped as a life-less puppet is what our self-image has come to these days. Through this art piece, I was hoping for at least one person to look at themselves in the mirror and like their appearance without worrying about what others thought of them.

Leading On Others

My submission is about people leading on other people into the light or the dark. What this means is that the light is happiness and kindness and the dark is sadness and discouragement.

Flowers of Gratitude

Flowers hold significant meanings, from love, joy, loss, grief, freedom, and gratitude. In my culture, you gift someone flowers to show that you’re thankful for what they’ve done. My entry depicts a man holding flowers, with a white dialogue box underneath that says “Thank you,” which hints the viewer towards the message and theme of gratitude. which I was trying to demonstrate through my drawing.

Thankful Thoughts

My submission is about who I am grateful for, my sister Lisbeth she is like a mom to me because my mom was always busy so she would take care of me and she taught me everything. I wanted to show my sister how grateful I am and a result of working on this project is that my sister is now aware of how much I am grateful and appreciate her.

A Little Hope

In a 100% virtual Title 1 public school, these kids used whatever they had at home to produce and edit this short film. After-school Zoom meetings, class brainstorming and virtual instruction made it possible even without the technology and resources we would normally have at school. Although it’s not perfect, the love and effort it took to do this brought us closer together as a class and taught the students how to adapt and inspire in ways they did not know was possible.

Real Life Hero’s

Heroes don’t always look like Superman, Wonder Woman, or Iron Man, they can work in hospitals, fire departments, or even classrooms. With all the negativity around the world, we all deserve a hero. We need someone to give us inspiration and hope. Whoever your hero might be, whether it’s your mom, dad, or someone who you look up to, they are there to protect us from real-life evil and dangers. All heroes have one thing in common, they give us hope by making it known that they will overpower evil with their good hearts and kindness.

Pandemic Hope

I decided to do this because it shows how this pandemic has hit everyone hard, but we will get through it.
